ELECTRIC EARTH Complete Work On Sophomore Album
January 15, 2006ELECTRIC EARTH, the Trollhättan, Sweden-based hard rock band featuring Peter Gottlieb (vocals and guitar; formerly with the ROLLIN' MACHINE),Tommy Scalisi (lead guitar; GOOSEFLESH, RAT SALAD),Lyris Karlsson (bass; RAT SALAD) and Lars Berger (drums; GOOSEFLESH, RISING),have completed work on their second CD, "Vol II – Words Unspoken". At the moment, they are looking for labels that are interested in releasing the album.
"Vol II – Words Unspoken" was recorded in Studio Bohus (a classic Swedish studio where everyone from ABBA and STATUS QUO to more recent acts like EVERGREY have worked),together with respected producer Roberto Laghi (MUSTASCH, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, LOK, FREAK KITCHEN, TRANSPORT LEAGUE, THE AWESOME MACHINE). The album can best be described as a mixture of '70s KISS, SOUNDGARDEN, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and BLACK SABBATH.
Formed in 2001, ELECTRIC EARTH "put great importance on artistic freedom and musical integrity," according to a press release. "The members are influenced by many of the most creative and open minded musicians and bands in the history of music. This standpoint and attitude coloured the bands debut album, 'Organic Songs – Volume One' — a record that offers both groove and variation." A video for the album opener "Platonic" was one of the tracks picked for the Sweden Rock magazine DVD that was unleashed in the beginning of 2005. The same song can also be heard on the recently released Buzzville Records compilation "Rock’N Roll Boulevard – Volume 1".
